Heather Grace Wahlen is a pianist, horn player, conductor, and educator pursuing graduate studies at the University of Northern Colorado under Andrés Felipe Jaime. Since 2022, she has been a collaborative staff pianist and diction coach at UNC, accompanying university choirs and collaborating in diverse music settings. She won UNC’s Southard Competition twice and has performed at Carnegie Hall and with several orchestras and ensembles. Grace began teaching private piano and horn lessons in 2016, working with students of all ages and levels while also serving as a church and choir pianist since 2018. She cultivates well-rounded musicians emphasizing reading, interpretation, and expressive performance, blending technical skill with creativity and individualized learning. Certified in Kodály Method Level 1, her lessons foster musicianship and ear training. Her teaching focuses on creating a supportive, inspiring, yet structured environment encouraging artistic exploration. She believes music study should blend discipline with joy and growth, tailoring lessons to each student’s needs and maintaining open family communication to build lifelong appreciation for music.
